1-3-1 Double Stack Flash
| |
1)
The Doublestack Flash is a good quick hitter to run against a 1-3-1 zone defense.
The play begins with O1 dribbling toward O3. O3 cuts through the lane and out to the weakside corner/wing. O2 slides over into the gap at the top of the key.
2)
O1 passes to O2 cutting into the gap at the top. On the pass, O5 flashes in front of the center defender or screens down on the defensive center. O4 cuts behind O5. O2 passes to O4 for a possible shot attempt.
3)
If O4 is not open, O2 reverses the basketball and passes to O3 on the wing. On this pass, O4 turns and screens down on the defensive center. O5 flashes back to the basketball behind O4's screen. O3 passes to O5 for the shot.
Note: The Doublestack Flash quick hitter can also be run in continuity fashion. If the pass to O4 or O5 does not come available, the ball can be swung back up to the top and then reversed to the other side. O4 and O5 will just continue with their cutting and flashing. The perimeter players can also replace each other by simply cutting or screening the high defenders.
