Screen the Screener

1)
This 'screen the screener' play is a nice play to run as a secondary option to the fast break.
The point guard, O1, brings the basketball to right wing as the others arrange themselves in the box set. This play is essentially designed for O2, probably the best scoring threat.
As O1 dribbles over to the wing, O2 sets a cross screen for O3. If O3 is open, feed him the basketball in the low post.

After setting the screen, O2 moves up the weakside of the lane, utilizing a staggered screen by O5 and O4.
If the defender fights over the screen, O2 should flatten out and receive the pass from O1 in perfect position to shoot the '3' behind the two-man wall. If O2 is trailed around the pick, he should curl toward the ballside elbow looking for the pass.

3)
O2 receives the pass and can shoot, drive to the basket, or play a two-man game with O5, who has continued to move to the right block after screening for O2 and then O3. O2 can even kick the basketball out to O1 in the right corner for a three-pointer.
Basically, O2 can take whatever the defense gives him.
