This play works great directly out of your secondary break. It’s a quick hitter that can be run anytime, but executes quite well out of your transition offense.
We will look to run this directly out of our secondary fast break. It can be initiated by either calling it out, pointing to the spot where the point guard wants the screen to be set (1 finger down) or by simply dribbling directly at the 4.
4 will come over and set a pick for 1 equal to where the lane begins. 1 will look to turn the corner for a shot, or the 5 coming across the lane for a post up.
If a shot was not taken by 1 or a post feed did not happen, 5 will look to move slightly up the lane which will force the defense to come up the lane as well not allowing for as much help side defense.
2 meanwhile has come to the backside block and will now come up and set a back screen for 4. 1 will look to hit 4 on the backscreen, or 2 stepping out after they have set the screen.
We can then look to 4 on a quick duck in post up.
If the lob was not open, 2 will receive the pass.
Meanwhile 5 came up the lane and 1 has gone down the lane. 3 works to the inside and then comes off of the double staggered screen set by 1 and 5.
