Get a quick and easy basket with this lob play from the top. Your point guard can receive the lob or another player can easily be moved into the lob position.
O2 cuts to the wing and receives the pass from O1. O5 flashes to the opposite low block, replacing O2.
O4 steps up to set a screen for O1. O1 sets up his defender and cuts to the basket for a lob pass from O2.
If O3’s defender has over-helped on O1’s cut, O2 can look to make a skip pass to O3.
If O1 was not open for the lob pass, O4 will step out to receive the pass from O2 and then quickly reverse the basketball to O3. O3 looks to O1, who is now posting up on the low block.
Note: If O1 is your point guard but is not best suited to receive a lob pass or score from the low post, begin this play by placing the player you want to receive the lob in O3’s position. O1 can then initiate the play by executing a dribble handoff with O3. O3 will then make the pass to O2 and cut to the basket for the lob.
