Purpose: To teach team closeouts and rebounding. A good closeout is the key to blocking out any offensive player. Drill: 4 offensive players line up outside the 3-point line and face the basket. Purpose: To teach helpside defense but at the same time not forget rebounding responsibilities. Drill: O1 begins by passing to O2. The defender, X1, should go from deny position to helpside position. O2 then drives to basket and pulls up for a jump shot. The defender attacks the penetration as soon as the ball goes on the floor.
