The Flex to Staggered Screen basketball play is designed as a quick hitter from your flex set to create an opportunity for your shooting guard. As you run the flex a few times, O3’s defender will start concentrating on defending the backscreen and flex cut across the lane. This play sets him up to be picked off by the staggered screen going the opposite direction.
The play begins with O1 making the wing entry pass to O3 and then clearing through to the opposite corner.
O3 passes to O5 at the top and then cuts off the backscreen being set by O4.
O5 passes to O2.
After cutting into/through the lane, O3 will change direction and use the staggered screens being set by O4 and O5.
O2 passes to O3 for the shot.
