The Golden State Warriors had a fantastic playoff run due to their tremendous outside shooting ability. The Warriors ran this set play to get star point guard Stephen Curry an open jump shot during Game 6 of the Western Conference Semifinals against the San Antonio Spurs. Curry was the shooting guard in this play. This can also be used as a quick hitter for your motion offense.
The initial set is a modified Horns set. 4 and 5 are bunched together at the high post. 2 and 3 are located in the corners. 1 has the ball at the elbow extended.
4 and 5 set a double ball screen in order to free the point guard up for a potential driving lane. If a driving lane is not available, the point guard dribbles back to the top of the key to set up the next sequence of this play.
4 and 5 rolls off the ball screen to set a double screen for 2. 2 will either have a lot of space to attack the basket or get an open outside shot if this play is executed properly.
