The 4 Threat baseline out of bounds play is run against a man-to-man defense in the last few seconds of the game. With a couple of catch-and-shoot options, there should at least be enough time on the clock to catch and shoot the ball cleanly. This play is best run when you are down by 1 or 2 points. Box Zone Lob Play
This baseline zone out of bounds play is designed to get a lob and is initiated out of a box set. You may even find success with this play against a man-to-man. When the official hands the basketball to O1, O5 makes a hard baseline cut calling for the basketball. O4 sets an up screen for O2 and then looks for the lob pass from O1. This '4 Across' play is a great play that should offer a chance for either an open layup or an open jump shot/3 pointer. It is also the play Wake Forest used to score a last second win vs. Duke on 1/28/2009. Four players set up in a '4 across' as shown.
