Avery High Line Play
This baseline out of bounds play sets up in a line as we often see, however, the players 'line' up higher than is often set. Whether against a man-to-man or a zone defense, this line play will grant several scoring options. When the official hands the basketball to O3, O5 curls back to screen for O1. O2 dives to the opposite low block and O4 cuts straight toward the passer. O3 has the option of passing to any open player who will look to attack and score. … [Read more...]
BC Cut & Back BLOB
Here is a wonderfully simple, yet effective baseline out of bounds play that can be run against a man-to-man defense. The simplicity of this play is also what makes it highly effective as many inbounds plays can be complex with very defined movements. O3 and O4 replace each other on the weakside to keep their defenders … [Read more...]
The Fusion Match-Up Zone Defense

Barcelona Box Mid Pick-and-Roll Play
This ball screen set that utilizes a mid pick and roll from the top begins in the box set formation. From the box set, this play will create a lot of open space for the pick-and-roll to be quite effective. From the box set formation, O4 cuts hard from the low block to the wing area. O1 passes to O4 and then cuts through to the ballside corner. As O4 receives the pass, O5 steps across the lane to set a screen on O2's defender. O2 curls around the screen and down the lane looking for a … [Read more...]

Double Overload Zone Offense
The Double Overload Zone Offense can be run as a continuity zone offense or a quick-hitting set. As the name indicates, it overloads one side of the zone defense to create multiple easy scoring chances. While it can be run against any zone defense, it is probably most effective against the 2-3 zone defense. The Double Overload can be run to either side with O2 and O3 high on the wing. In our diagram, O1 starts the play by passing to O3 high on the right wing. O1 cuts to the elbow and … [Read more...]
Georgia Wing Pick-and-Roll
The Georgia Wing Pick-and-Roll play can be run as a quick hitter and even as a continuity. We won't categorize it as a continuity but it allows for continuity because as the ball gets reversed, the pick-and-roll can be executed from each side of the court. Ideally, however, it's going to create a scoring opportunity on the first or second screen. The players set up as shown (or O2 and O3 can set at the elbows and pop out to receive the pass). O1 initiates the play by passing to O2 on the … [Read more...]
